MONTPELIER - Lorraine Weir Adams, a resident of Heaton Woods Residence passed peacefully away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the age of 90.
Born May 8, 1927 in Barre, she was the daughter of Vernon & Agnes (Lawson) Weir, attended schools in Websterville, and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1945.
Lorraine married Clarence Adams on May 25, 1946 and lived in Barre until 2013. She gave birth to four girls: Linda Adams Lyon, Bedford, PA; Marcia Adams Syrett, Hendersonville, NC; Janice Adams Braley, Derry, NH; Debi Adams Zoltanski, Robbinsville, NJ.
From 1945 to 1954 Lorraine worked for The Homer Fitts Company, 1970 to 1972 Ormsby's Appliance Store, 1972 to 1982 Miles Coal Company, 1987 to 2001 Howard's Market in South Barre. She was a Girl Scout leader for 11 years and secretary of Sky Acres Committee as well as being involved on many committees at Hedding United Methodist Church and President of the United Methodist Women's group.
She is survived by six grandchildren: Brian and Melissa Syrett, Christopher and Alyssa Braley, Alex and Ava Zoltanski, and five great grandchildren: Gretta and Luke Syrett, Dominik, Noah and Ruby Lipari.
There will be a private graveside service for immediate family only at the Williamstown Village Cemetery at a future date.
