PLAINFIELD – Loretta Jean “Candy” Taylor, 70, of Barre Hill Road, died unexpectedly, Friday, January 2, 2015 at Birchwood Terrace Health Care in Burlington, where she had been a patient for several days.
Born April 6, 1944 in Barre City, she was the daughter of Ernest A. and Marion (Landry) Martel and was a graduate of Marshfield High School in 1962.
She had been a longtime employee in the clerical department of the National Life Insurance Company in Montpelier and retired from the manufacturing staff at the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters in Waterbury.
“Candy” and her husband, Donald C. Taylor Sr., made their home on Barre Hill Road for many years. He died October 15, 2006.
Hunting, fishing, photography, traveling and yard saleing were her special interests.
Survivors include her mother, Marion Martel, a resident at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center; her brother, Albert “Skip” Martel and his wife, Georgiana, of Gore, VA as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and neighbors.
Besides her father, Ernest, and husband, Donald, she was predeceased by her two brothers Rodney and Ernest Martel.
Her Committal Service will be held at a time to be announced, next spring, at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
There are no calling hours.
