WEBSTERVILLE - Linda Berube White, 70, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the McClure Miller Respite Home in Colchester. Born on July 20, 1955, in St Johnsbury, she was the daughter of Reginald and Beverly (Cameron) Berube, both deceased. She attended graded school there and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1974. In her early 20’s she moved to Barre. Her first job was with Roger’s Clothing Store, where she loved working. She always had a flair for fashion and always enjoyed greeting her customers with her bubbly personality. When Linda left Roger’s Clothing Store, she then worked as a receptionist for Dr. Ripley and Barre Optical. After moving to Websterville, she enjoyed her plants and decorating for the holidays. But her biggest passion was for animals of all kinds. She had two cats that were her world and couldn’t stand to see an animal abused or suffering in any way. Survivors include a son Todd Scott, lovingly raised by Tari and David Scott of St Johnsbury, Vt. The Scott Family has been so grateful to Linda for making that difficult decision. Todd was able to reconnect with Linda as an adult and the two remained in touch over the years. She also leaves two sisters Debra Noyes of Waterbury, VT and Sharon Cummings and her husband, Graig of Spring Hill, FL as well as two nephews Steven Noyes of Montana and Cameron Cummings of Savannah, GA. Besides her family, Linda built another family in Websterville. As Linda became more ill, the small village of Websterville came together to look after her. Speaking for Linda, her sister Sharon said, “words are not enough to show our gratitude for all they have done.” So, on behalf of Linda and myself, sincere thanks to Gloria Neddo, her partner in crime. Annmarie and Rick Kelty for all the love and care they gave Linda throughout her most difficult years. From her sister Sharon, “I’d like to end with something I think my sister would wish for. If we knew the struggles our neighbors were going through, maybe we would be a much kinder world to live in.”

The graveside service to honor and celebrate Linda’s life will be held at the convenience of her family in Wilson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Vermont Humane Society, 1589 VT-14S, East Montpelier, VT 05651.
