BARRE- Linda S. Morse, 83, a resident of the Lincoln House, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, with family at her side.

Born May 20, 1943, in Springfield, she was the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Hart) Shatney. The family relocated to Barre, and Linda attended elementary school in Websterville before graduating from Spaulding High School. She continued her education at CUNA in Madison, WI, and took courses at Goddard College in Plainfield, VT.

She met and married Paul Beede in 1964. They shared two daughters.

Linda married Robert C Morse in 1992 they lived in Williamstown.

Linda began her career at Green Mountain Power Corp., worked at Montgomery Ward, and later joined National Life Employees Credit Union, where she rose to CFO and retired after 25 years with the company. After retirement she volunteered with Prevent Child Abuse.

An active member of Williamstown Federated Church for many years, Linda enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, and reading. Her pies in particular are unmatched.

She is survived by her daughters, Sara Sikora and Martha Vitagliano; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Morse, and her sister and brother‑in‑law, Evelyn and Richard Gregoire.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Lincoln House Activities Fund.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday August 1, 2026, at 11: 00a.m at Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington. Feel free to forgo the traditional black and wear bright colors as was Linda's preference.
