BARRE – Linda Lou Larivee, 82, of Merchant Street passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on February 9, 1943, in Barre, she was the son of Clarence J. and Robena A. (Shortt) Bartlett. She attended Mathewson Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1961. After attending Baylor University, she finished her nursing degree at the Thompson School for Practical Nurses in Brattleboro.
On July 9, 1966, she married Richard Larivee in Montpelier. Following their marriage, they made their home in Barre.
Linda was an LPN at Central Vermont Medical Center for many years.
In her spare time, Linda enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening and cheering on the Red Sox.
Survivors include her children Lisa Larivee of Barre City, Richard Larivee, Jr., of New Hampshire, Robert Larivee of Newport, Karen Guthrie of Barre City, Randall Larivee of Barre Town, and Jill Spur of Weathersfield; her eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard Larivee, her sisters Christine Bigelow, Patricia Vinton, Nancy Wellman, and Brenda Harvey and her brothers Clarence “Bud” Bartlett and Conrad Bartlett.
The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. There are no calling hours.
