ORANGE - Leona Rose Williams, 67, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 with family and friends by her side at Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Berlin.
Born on May 10, 1951 in Barre, she was the daughter of John and Isabel (Dow) Williams. Leona was the oldest of five children including Linda, Johnny, Richard, and Amy.
She enjoyed religious studies, knitting, crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren, and watching mischievous pets at play. Leona had a playful sense of humor and a generous, loving heart.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Sicely; daughter Karen and son-in-law Mike; daughter Kelly; son Aaron and daughter-in-law Leslie; granddaughters Kayla, Victoria, and Elizabeth; sister Linda and brother-in-law Robert; sister-in-law Diane; brother Richard and sister-in-law Barb; sister Amy and brother-in-law Randy as well as many nieces and nephews. Additional special people include Aunt Jo, Tereesa Larson, Tina Salls, and Sheila Marineau.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, David Blodgett and her brother, Johnny.
The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Christ Community Alliance Church (formerly Orange Alliance Church) to be officiated by Reverend William Wick.
Following the service, a reception will be held in the Orange Town Hall. Purple was her favorite color and if anyone would like to wear purple to the funeral in honor of her memory, it would bring a smile to our faces during a trying time. Her ashes will be planted in a living urn as a yellow rose bush in the spring. For further information, please call Aaron at 802-272-8188.
Leona’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the fantastic staff at Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing home for taking great care of our Mom and her many visitors. May God rest her soul.
