BARRE – Lawrence Homer Miller, 81, of Allen Street, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, with his family at his bedside.
Born October 14, 1934 in Graniteville, he was the son of Homer Henry and Blanche A. (Harvey) Miller. He attended Graniteville Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1953.
On October 26, 1963, Larry married Roberta Ann Sicely. They made their home in the Barre area. His family was always very important to him.
Larry began his career as an auto mechanic at Weldon’s Texaco in South Barre. He later worked for Williams Motor Transfer in Barre, Duranleau Construction in Washington, Larry Hebert Construction in Williamstown, and delivered to area garages for Bond Auto Parts in South Barre until his retirement in October of 2014.
Larry was a member of the Canadian Club of Barre Town. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, being a racing mechanic in the pits at Thunder Road, tinkering, and watching NASCAR racing. Television shows that he enjoyed included Beverly Hillbillies, Big Valley, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, and Road Runner.
Besides his wife of 52 years, Roberta of Barre, he is survived by his son, Jim Miller and his wife, Cindy of Washington and their children, Jim Jr. and Tammy; his daughters, Wendy Tosi and her husband, Todd of Barre and their children, Jeffrey, Justin, and Karissa, Tina Bevington and her husband, Curtis of Topsham and their children, Zach, Melissa, Kristen, Jeff, Brandy, and Lindsay, and Allison Keating and her husband, Randy of West Topsham and their children, Travis and Ryan; 23 great- grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Miller of Barre; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents predeceased him.
Family and friends may call at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
