Larry Smith

BARRE – Larry Smith, 78, a long-time resident passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Woodridge Nursing Home.

Born on March 18, 1945, in Barre City, he was the son of Douglas and Margaret (Shea) Smith.

Survivors include his sister Mary Ann (Smith) Huang and her husband, Henry of Barre, VT and their sons Douglas Huang of Florida and Peter Huang, of Ohio; his sister Kathleen Boudreau and her husband, David of West Rutland, and their son Daniel Boudreau of Rutland and their daughter Jennifer Swanlund of Massachusetts; and his niece Deborah Gregoire and her husband, Marc and his nephew James Bernasconi, all of Barre, VT as well as his great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Janice Bernasconi.

The service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at the convenience of his family.

Larry lived in many mental health homes throughout his life.  His family wants to thank all of the people that helped Larry throughout his life.  A special thank you to Bev Richardson and her husband of Burlington for all their help over the years.  Also, his family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff, nurses, and social workers at Woodridge.  Larry loved painting and he made so many paintings that he gave them to everyone.  The staff at Woodridge made the end of Larry’s life a beautiful time.
