WASHINGTON – Kenneth C. Beede, 91, of Hart Hollow Road passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Barre Gardens in Barre after a short illness.
Born April 26, 1927 in Washington, he was the son of Clarence W. and Myrtice (Burnham) Beede.
Kenneth attended Washington Village School and was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving in Korea before being honorably discharged.
On January 31, 1959 he married Bernice Preston in South Royalton. Following their marriage, they made their home in Washington living in the same house he was born in.
Kenneth was a farmer owning and operating his own dairy farm for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Beede of Washington; his children Leon Beede and his wife, Lori; Howard Beede and his wife, Sherry; and Hilda Beede all of Washington; and Les Beede and his wife Annette, of Brookfield, MA; his grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, and Jon; his sisters Eleanor, Elsie; and Lyle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandchildren Chris and Katie; his brothers Harold and Carroll; and his sisters Arlene, Clara, and Nellie.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cheney Cemetery in Washington. There are no calling hours.
