PLAINFIELD – Kay Roberts Santamore, 71, of Bunker Hill Circle passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
Born on October 18, 1952, in Barre, she was the daughter of Wesley and Lyle (Raymond) Willard. She attended local elementary schools and graduated from Spaulding High School.
On August 24, 1974, she married Daniel Roberts. He later passed away. Then on December 13, 2014, she married David Santamore, and they made their home in Plainfield.
Kay started her working career at Ormsby’s TV and Appliance Store selling appliances, before she joined the staff The World newspaper where she worked for 43 years.
She was a member of the Barre Opera House and enjoyed attending events there as well as the many years she spent as a member of Step-N-Time line dancing.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, cornhole and miniature golf, kayaking, yard-saling, crocheting, cooking and baking, attending Paint & Sip events and most of all spending time at the lake vacationing with family. She also loved traveling and cherished her trips with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband David Santamore of Plainfield, VT; her daughter Jennifer Roberts Trunnell (Richard Jr.) of New Market, MD; and her step children Daniel Roberts, Jr. (Carrie) of Barre, VT; Karen Hoar (Sean) of The Villages, FL; Johanna Goss (Kevin) of Montpelier, VT; Brandi Roberts (partner – Paul Fowler) of Plainfield, VT; and Natalie, Naomie and Lauren; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as her brother Tom Willard of Buckeye, AZ and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Daniel Roberts, her sister Marlene Willard and her brother Jim Willard.
A Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Barre Lodge of Elks #1535, 10 Jefferson Street, Barre. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 3 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Hooker Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, Vermont.
