BARRE – Kathryn “Kay” M. Dailey, 85, of Jefferson St., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Kindred Birchwood Terrace in Burlington.
Born on April 25, 1930 in East St. Johnsbury, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Morse and Alice (McGaffey) Splann. Kay attended Williamstown High School, graduating in the class of 1949. She attended her 65th class reunion in 2014. She was married to Norman Dailey in 1950, and they later divorced. She was a homemaker for many years, and worked outside the home when her children were in their teens.
Kay loved to read. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR, Red Sox baseball, playing bingo, and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She liked to cook and bake, and often hosted Christmas dinner with her family.
Kay is survived by her children, Norma Dailey of South Barre; Mitchell Dailey of Burlington; and, Patricia A. (Dailey) Bartlett of Barre; her grandchildren, April Bartlett of NC and James Bartlett, Jr. of Barre; her sister-in-law, Linda Merchant of Essex Jct.; and her special friends, Linda Beaudoin of FL, and Carol Gray and her dog Tippi of Barre. In addition to her parents, Kay is predeceased by her son, Allan Dailey who passed away in December of 1971.
A graveside service to celebrate Kay’s life will be held in the spring of 2016 in The Village Cemetery in Williamstown.
