BARRE - Karl Boisvert, 69, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family after a 30-year battle with brain cancer. Karl fought courageously, never complained and almost always had a smile on his face.

Born on February 19, 1956, in Barre, he was the son of Ernest and Betty Boisvert. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1974 and went on to attend Bryant College in Rhode Island, graduating in 1978. Karl received his Eagle Scout award in 1974, achieving the highest award of the Boy Scouts.

For the past 38 years, Karl worked as a skilled cobbler alongside his father, mother and daughter in the family business, Boisvert Shoe Repair and Leather Goods in Barre, Vermont. He took great pride in his craft and was known for his dedication, kindness, and the personal care that he gave to every customer.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen, son Ross, and daughter Megan Boisvert, as well as his extended family.

He was predeceased by his father Ernest, his mother Betty, and his brother Gary Boisvert.

Karl carried happiness with him wherever he went, and he will be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) in the St. Monica Catholic Church, 79 Summer Street, Barre. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Monica School, 79 Summer Street, Barre, VT 05641.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the many friends and loved ones who so generously gave their time to drive Karl to appointments and treatments. We are also thankful to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and medical staff whose care supported Karl throughout his cancer battle.
