Josephine Hayward

BARRE – Josephine Hayward, 87, a former resident of Bradford, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on November 15, 1934, in Barre, she was the daughter of Ida Zampieri. She attended local elementary schools and Spaulding High School.

She married Merlin Hayward and following their marriage, they made their home in Washington. Josephine was a homemaker and took great pride in maintaining the family home.

In her spare time, she loved sewing and reading, knitting, and had a special fondness for animals.

Survivors include her children Philip Hayward and Dana Hayward, both of Corinth; Gary Hayward of Stockbridge; Angela Decker and her husband, Michael of Corinth; and Marjorie Giroux and her husband, James of Barre; as well as her brother Enzo Zampieri of Barre.

In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her five siblings.

The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at the convenience of her family.
