WILLIAMSTOWN – It is with deep sorrow that the family of Jeffrey A. ‘Jeff” Spaulding announces his passing on Monday, October 28, 2024.
Born on July 19, 1960, to Raymond and Elaine (Calcagni) Spaulding, Jeff grew up in Barre City, attending local elementary schools and graduating from Spaulding High School in 1978.
After graduating from high school, Jeff worked for Dubois and King as a surveyor before settling into what would become his lifelong career as a Master Electrician. Completing his apprenticeship alongside his uncle Robert, Jeff went on to work at Lamberton Electric for many years before starting Selectric LLC with business partners Kevin Sare and Pam Lizzari. Jeff was very proud of his work, which he completed with an attention to detail that was as impressive to look at as the functionality it provided. Many local granite plants and businesses came to rely on Jeff and his expertise as well as his commitment to service that often kept him busy after normal business hours and over many weekends.
Outside of work Jeff was equally busy volunteering in the community and helping family and friends. As a member of both Millstone Trail Association’s Board of Directors and summer and winter trail crews, Jeff spent hundreds of hours supporting MTA’s mission whether it was working on the trails, supporting a fundraiser or sharing his insight as a board member. In his free time Jeff enjoyed cycling, being outdoors and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son Kyle Spaulding (Taylor Fitzgerald) and grandchildren Camden and Eden, Molly Spaulding (Alan Felion) and grandchildren Gracen and Kayden. Including his children Jeff is survived by Sandy Spaulding, who remained committed to Jeff’s well-being throughout his recent chemotherapy treatments while co-parenting and grandparenting as only the two of them could.
In addition, Jeff is also survived by his mother Elaine, siblings Gary Spaulding (Nancy), Alison Couture (Richard) and Kevin Spaulding (Sonya) as well as three nephews, three nieces and eight cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Frank and Eda Calcagni, and Wayne and Carrie Spaulding, as well as his father Raymond Spaulding.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 3:00 p.m. at the Canadian Club of Barre, 414 East Montpelier Road, Barre. In honor of Jeff please feel free to wear your favorite flannel or fleece as Jeff would have wanted that. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeff’s name to the UVM Cancer Center Research Fund (https://go.uvm.edu/cancermemorial).
