CORINTH – Jeffrey “Papa” I. Paronto, Sr., 61, of Cookeville Road passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at his home with his family beside him.
Born March 17, 1958 in Barre, he was the son of Irving and Janice (Lezier) Paronto. Jeff attended local elementary schools and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1976.
On July 20, 1979, he married Susan Chartier at the Sky View Casino in Williamstown. Following their marriage, they first made their home in Huntington before moving to Graniteville where they lived for 20 years, eventually settling in Corinth – Jeff’s hunting grounds.
He was first employed by Walker Motors, then by General Electric for 15 years, and Rock of Ages for 11 years as a machinist and was self-employed until his passing.
Jeff loved the outdoors – hunting, fishing and camping, he was an avid Yankees, Giants and NASCAR fan – camping in the infield at the Daytona 500 for the last 15 years. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, bowling and playing horseshoes. Family was his number one priority and he thoroughly enjoyed playing cards with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Susan Paronto of Corinth; his son Jeffrey Paronto Jr., and his wife, Jennifer of Charlotte; his daughters Sonya Cheney of Williamstown and Bridgette Kew and her husband, Joshua of Graniteville; his six grandchildren; his mother Janice Paronto of Williamstown; his brothers David Paronto of Barre and Scott Paronto of Williamstown; and his sister Deborah Tremblay also of Williamstown; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father Irving Paronto.
At Jeff’s request, his celebration of life was held before he passed on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at his home in Corinth with 125 people in attendance. There will be no inurnment at this time.
