Williamstown – Jeffrey Peter Lissor, 62, passed away suddenly at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin on Sunday, October 2, 2016, with his loving family at his side.
Born on December 21, 1953, in Barre City, he was the son of Roger and Claire (Rossi) Lissor. Jeffrey attended elementary school in Barre City and was a graduate of Spaulding High School in 1971.
Following his graduation he attended Vermont Technical College where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering. He used this education throughout his 28 year career with IBM.
On September 4, 1982, he married his former wife Raylene Sumner in Barre, with whom he had two wonderful daughters. The family lived in the Barre area for the remainder of his life.
Jeffrey had many hobbies and interests throughout his life, but he had a passion for playing and watching sports, hunting, cars, and motorcycles.
Besides his parents, Roger and Claire, he is survived by his two daughters, Andrea Lissor and her fiancé, Dante, of Burlington and Rachel Lissor of Barre; a sister, Martha deVos and her husband, Bill, of Barre, and a brother, Greg Lissor and his wife, Phi, of Panama City, FL. He also leaves his Aunt Janice Towne and her husband, Brad, and his Aunt Amelia Lissor as well as nephew, Alex, and three nieces, Casey, Kim, and Heather.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jeffrey’s life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Barre on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be made in the Hope Cemetery in Barre following the service. There are no calling hours.
