James Main

EAST CALAIS, VT – James Edward Main, 82, of East Calais, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, VT.

Born on April 4, 1939, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of James and Marcella (Famous) Main.  He attended the University of Akron and was a lifelong member of the Theta Chi Fraternity.

Following his schooling, he entered the U.S. Air Force, where he served 20 years before being honorably discharged.  He then went to work for Sanders Associates of Nashua, NH.  Following his retirement he lived in Wake Forest, NC for 17 years before moving to Vermont.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Guarcello Main, he is survived by his second wife, Maura Hussey Mattogno Main and his sons James and Jason Main, Christopher Mattogno; his daughter Mary-Eileen Mattogno Metcalf; his grandchildren Marissa Mattogno, Anne-Marie Mattogno, Lily Mattogno, Nathan Metcalf, Sophia Metcalf, Chaya Main and Ari Main.

At his request, there will be no services.
