BARRE TOWN – It is with great sadness that we announce that James Patrick Bernasconi, “Jamie”, of Barre Town passed away March 5, 2025, after a three-year battle with cancer.
Born on October 26, 1964, he was the son of Erman and Janice (Smith) Bernasconi. He spent his adolescent life growing up in North Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1983. He purchased his first car at the age of 15 and was the proud owner of a Plymouth Valiant Signet.
Following his schooling, Jamie began his working career with Green Mountain Boring and eventually went on to work for Vermont Concrete Cutters for many years.
Jamie enjoyed fishing for the “Big One”, especially ice-fishing in the winter. He also liked going to Thunder Road and watching NASCAR races. Jamie loved spending time with his friends and always had a good story to tell. He had many hobbies and one of his favorites was his remote-control cars and boats. He was an avid perfectionist, especially when it came to his lawn and his cars.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Frangiamore Bernasconi and his beloved dog Daisy Boo-Boo; his father Erman Bernasconi; his sister Deborah Gregoire and her husband, Marc; his stepdaughters Alana Perras and Lily Lafabvre; his nephews Jason Gregoire and his wife, Felicia and Ryan Gregoire and his wife, Crystal, as well as his niece Megan Spaulding and her husband, Daniel.
Jamie was predeceased by his mother, Janice Bernasconi and his sister, Judith Ann Bernasconi.
A service to honor and celebrate Jamie’s life will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at noon in the Canadian Club, 414 East Montpelier Road, Barre, VT. A time of fellowship and pot-luck luncheon will immediately follow the service until 4:00 p.m.
