BARRE CITY – Jaqueline B. Lamphere, 77, a longtime Cliff Street resident, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. Her family was with her at her bedside.
Born on November 12, 1942 in New Britain, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Charles and Helen (Huntington) Frenette. She attended elementary schools in Connecticut and Vermont and was a graduate of Marion High School in Barre in 1960.
On October 9, 1965, she married the love of her life, Alan Lamphere, in St. Monica Catholic Church. The two made their home in St. Johnsbury until 1970 when they moved to Barre. Alan passed away in 2016.
Jacqueline began her working career for the State of Vermont as a social worker for the Social Welfare department in Barre. She then moved on to the Department of Employment and Training and was a claims auditor for many years until her retirement in 2005.
Throughout her life, Jacqueline loved reading, gardening, traveling, bargain hunting at garage sales and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her two sons Chris Lamphere and his wife, Sonia, and Michael Lamphere both of Barre; two grandchildren Chloe and Jacob Lamphere; two brothers David Frenette of Garden Valley, Idaho and Daniel Frenette of Webster, New York; her sister Karen Broemmer of South Lake Tahoe, California; as well as two nieces Hana and Carly Frenette and a nephew Connor Frenette.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Jean Frenette and her sister Julie Frenette.
Jacqueline will be inurned along with the husband, Alan, in the Poplar Hill Cemetery in North Montpelier in the spring at the convenience of the family.
