Irvin Sayman

BARRE – Irvin Sayman, 87, of Vine Street passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at his home with his family at his bedside.

Born October 12, 1931 in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of Frederick and Rosa               (Silverstrim) Sayman.

Irvin attended elementary schools in Pennsylvania and graduated from New Albany High School in 1949.

On November 18, 1967 he married Josephine Smith in Towanda, PA. They made their home there for five years before moving to Vermont, settling in Barre.

Irvin was employed as a Loom Fixer at Malden Mills for eighteen years, retiring in the early 1990’s.

In his spare time, Irvin enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Sayman of Barre; his daughters Rose Haight of Florida; Rita Inman of Pennsylvania; Roxanne Sizemore of Maryland; Ruth Coxhead of Pennsylvania; Lisa Sayman of Barre; and Roy Sayman of Alaska; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother Howard Sayman.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Frederick and his sisters Esther, Betty, and Delores.

A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at the convenience of his family.
