Irene Gaylord

BARRE – Irene (Honey) Gaylord, 91, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

She was born in Montpelier on October 12, 1926, the daughter of Jose and Leonor (Gutierrez) Ortiz.

Irene graduated from Spaulding High School in 1944. She married Bruce Gaylord on March 24, 1945. He died on October 25, 1968.

She had been employed at National Life Insurance Company in the Mail Room, retiring in 1987.

Irene is survived by one daughter, Penni Perrotte, and son-in-law, Anthony (Tony) Perrotte of Durham, NC; a sister-in-law, Kay Bigelow of Oakdale, CT; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lisa Bearden; two brothers, Frederick and Angel Ortiz; and four sisters, Amelia Drown, Dena Estivill, Lola Zorzi, and Tina Tosi.

A graveside committal service will be held at a later date in the East Brookfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
