RANDOLPH CENTER - Hope A. (Arnholm) Loso, 98, a lifelong resident of Barre, died peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2024, surrounded by her family at the Menig Nursing Home, where she had resided for the past year.
Born on September 9, 1925, in Barre, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Merena (Fisher) Arnholm. She attended Barre schools and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1943.
Hope married Robert F. Loso on September 9, 1950, her 25th birthday, at the First Presbyterian Church in Barre. They mostly resided in Barre their entire marriage. Hope lovingly cared for Bob the last 7 years of his life until his passing in 2012.
She was initially employed for 25 years as a bookkeeper at Granite City Creamery. Hope then worked for John R. Miles Supply Co. (now Miles Supply Co.) for 40+ years, working part- time into her early 80s. At the time of her passing she held the honor of being the longest member of the First Presbyterian Church of Barre (74 years) where she also participated in the choir. Her home, family and friends were most important in her life, and preparing wonderful meals to be shared was a hobby dear to her heart. Her door was always open and there was room for another chair at the table.
Survivors include her daughter Kathie L. MacInnes and husband Barry, of West Lebanon, NH; her son Robert F. Loso Jr., of Barre, VT; her granddaughters Kellie L. Mussgnug (Erich) of Plainfield, NH, and Kerrie L. MacInnes ( Jason) of Longmont, CO; her great-grandchildren Rydge MacInnes of NC; Pearl Hope Hindman of CO; and Maeve A. Mussgnug of NH and her brother Ronald Arnholm of Athens, GA as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many younger friends with whom she shared a special bond and treated like family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert; her sister Merena M. Arnholm; her brothers Charles A. Arnholm (Rachel) and Bernard R. Arnholm (MaryEllen) and her grandson Bradley J. MacInnes.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hooker Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Following the service, inurnment will take place in Hope Cemetery in Barre. Family and friends may call at 10:00 a.m. – an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
