BARRE – Heather Rae Seale “Heidi”, 84, a longtime Graniteville resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury, Vermont.

Born on August 28, 1934 in Springfield, VT, she was the daughter of Ralph and Idella (Hewitt) Seale and later step daughter of Claudia Nemkovich Seale. She attended the local elementary school and graduated from Springfield High as part of the class of 1952. Following her graduation, Heidi moved to Rhode Island where she attended Barrington College and earned her bachelor’s degree.

Heidi began her career working for the State of Rhode Island where she worked as a social worker for 11 years. She then spent two years working as a missionary for the Grace and Hope Missions before moving back to her native Vermont where she worked as a Foster Home Licensor for the State of Vermont for 20 years until her retirement.

Upon her return to Vermont, Heidi joined and was very active in the Websterville Baptist Church. She enjoyed travelling and often visited her former co-workers in the Grace and Hope Missions as well as other friends and family.

Survivors include her two sisters Carol Jasinski and her husband, Michael of Springfield, Vermont and Carla Babineau and her husband, Guy of Colchester, Vermont. Although Heidi never married, she was the proud aunt of seven nieces and nephews Amy Babineau of Colchester, Vermont and Ben Babineau (Jessica) of Portsmouth, Ohio, Jamie Jasinski (Michelle) of Ascutney, Brian Jasinski (Amanda) of Windsor and John, Michael (Daryl) and MaryAnn Jasinski of Springfield. She also leaves 12 great-nieces and nephews who were her pride and joy.

A service to honor and celebrate Heidi’s life will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. in the Websterville Baptist Church in Websterville, VT. Later inurnment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery in Springfield, VT on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions in Heidi’s name may be made to the Grace and Hope Mission, 4 South Gay Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.
