Harold Kennedy

WASHINGTON – Harold L. Kennedy, 90, a longtime resident of Woodchuck Hollow Road, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on October 22, 1934, in Bemidji, Minnesota, he was the son of Harold and Bernice (Smith) Kennedy.  His family moved to Flint, Michigan when he was a child.  He did his schooling in Flint and graduated from high school in 1952.

Following his graduation, Harold enlisted in the United States Air Force.  He served with distinction for 10 years, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant before being honorably discharged.

In 1965, Harold married Marie Leno in a ceremony held in Wallingford, Connecticut.  The two made their home there for some time as he worked at the Stanley Judd Manufacturing plant.  In 1978, they moved to Vermont and resided on Woodchuck Hollow Road in Washington for the rest of their lives.  His wife Marie passed away in 1996.  During this time, Harold worked at both the Grand Union grocery store in Barre and Lyle’s Superette in Washington.

Throughout his life, Harold’s main focus was working.  Later in life he found that he really enjoyed playing Bingo with his friends at the Barre Gardens.

Survivors include his daughter Deborah Beaucage; his grandchildren Nicholas Beaucage and his wife, Monica and Sara Beaucage and her partner, Calvin DeAlmeida; his great-grandchildren Ethan, Makenna, Wyatt, Greyson, Chase and Kylee as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Marie; his siblings Rose Calhoun, Donald Kennedy, Donna Schmid, Marilyn Jackson, and Delbert Kennedy; his son-in-law Donald Beaucage and his grandson Jeremy Beaucage.

Harold and Marie will be interred in the North Branch Cemetery in Middlesex at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.
