H. Theresa Gay

WEBSTERVILLE – H. Theresa Gay, 93, of Brook Street passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born on September 27, 1931, she was the daughter of Morris and Cora (Peabody) Pelkey. She attended local elementary schools and graduated from Spaulding High School.

In her younger years, she was a waitress at the Hilltop Restaurant in Graniteville before she joined the staff at the Central Vermont Council on Aging as a Patient Advocate.

Survivors include her daughters Pamela Burke of Williamstown, VT; Candace Davis and her husband, Donald of Hanford, CA; Barbara Bernatchy and her husband Jon Kilian of Barre, VT; Debra Stevens and her husband, Michael of Barre, VT; and her son James Bernatchy of Websterville, VT; her eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as her sister Rachel Olsen of Barre Town, VT; and Thomas Pelkey of Marion, OH.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Robert Bernatchy, her second husband William Gay and her brother Francis Pelkey.

The graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Sylvester Cemetery in Lower Websterville. There are no calling hours.
