MORETOWN – Gerald N. Stauff, III, “Bud”, SPC U.S. Army, of River Road, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at his home.
Born December 28, 1994 in Berlin, he was the son of Gerald and Alicia (Pixley) Stauff, Jr. Gerald attended local elementary schools, the Barre Technical Center and graduated from U 32 High School. While he was in high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Iraq as a Specialist in the 716th Engineering Company based out of Somersworth, NH. After his deployment, he returned home and lived in Berlin before settling in Moretown. Gerald was employed by Simply Subs, F.W. Webb, and New England Air where he specialized in heating, ventilating and air conditioning work.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and playing sports, football, soccer and lacrosse, and hanging out with his friends and family.
Survivors include his parents, his grandmother Margaret Kelly and her life partner, Harold Ward, his grandfather Gerald Stauff, Sr., his sister Victoria Stauff, and his brother Zachary Pixley, as well as many aunts, uncles, and family members.
He was predeceased by his grandfather Wilmer Grandfield, grandmother Geraldine Pixley and grandfather Douglas Pixley.
The service to honor and celebrate Gerald’s life will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre with interment to take place after the service in the Berlin Corner Cemetery, Berlin. Family and friends may call at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
