WASHINGTON, DC – George Storti, 80, a former Barre resident passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his residence.
Born August 16, 1939 in Barre City, he was the son of Mario and Elise (Johnson) Storti. George attended Ayer Street Elementary School, Lincoln Graded School and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1957. Following high school, he attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he received a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Physics.
George worked for the Federal Government for a short while after college and then went on to work as a private consultant in the field of solar energy. When not working, he enjoyed time spent furthering his knowledge and interest in both solar energy and physics.
Survivors include his brothers John Storti of Ballston Lake, NY and Allan Storti of Barre, VT as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Mario and Elsie Storti.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of his family.
