WASHINGTON – Gene E. Wright, 77, a former Washington resident who recently resided at the Edgewood Nursing Home in Farmington, ME passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 in Maine. His family was at his bedside.
Born on March 20, 1941 in Barre, he was the son of Elmer and Frances Wright.
After serving in the U.S. Army, he was employed at Rock of Ages for several years. He then took over his son-in-law’s (Steve May) landscaping business until he moved to Maine. He then worked at Semi Conductors in South Portland, ME until he became ill. Gene was a hard worker. In his spare time, he loved fishing and hunting and had a great appreciation for his family.
Survivors include his daughters Cynthia Whitmer, Linda Busque, Laurie Wright, Jodie Wright, Tricia Moloney (Wright), and Tracy Wright; one step-son Michael Gilman; four sisters Pat Howe, Barbara Jones, Anna Martin, and Brenda; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as his wife, Anne Wright of Maine.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his ex-wife Brenda J. Wright (Orr), and his step-son Randall Gilman.
