BARRE TOWN – Gary Adamski, 77, of Chestnut Place, Berlin, formerly of Woodland Drive joined his redeemer and his loving wife, Blanche on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

Born on the Rainbow Bridge between Niagara Falls, NY and Niagara Falls, Canada on August 5, 1947, to Matthew and Anna Adamski, the second son.   He attended local schools and is a proud member of the class of 1965 of Niagara Falls High School.   He attended Niagara Community College, Buffalo State College as well as the University of Montreal, Universite de Grenoble, Universidad Compentense de Madrid.

Gary taught in Montpelier, Bethel, and Barre (Spaulding), as well at St. Monica School.  He taught French, Spanish and English.  He was an assistant principal at Montpelier High School for three years and finally principal of St. Michael’s School in Montpelier.  He also taught French at Norwich University.   Gary organized the Swiss Exchange at Montpelier High School and took over 1,500 students on trips to France, Spain, Mexico as well as Montreal and Quebec City.

He loved to travel, garden, read and do jigsaw puzzles.  He was a director of the 802 Credit Union, member of the Granite Center Garden Club, and Washington County Retired Educators.

The service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hooker Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre.  There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UVM Medical Center Dialysis – Berlin, 130 Fisher Road, Berlin, VT 05602, and/or the Washington County Retired Educators Association, c/o Mary Ann Ritchie, Treasurer, 19 Chestnut Lane, Barre, VT 05641.
