BARRE CITY – Gabino Benjamin Aja, Jr., 52, a resident of Park Street since 1988, died unexpectedly on December 21, 2017.
Born March 29, 1965 in Newport, he was the son of Gabino B. and Lucille (Linton) Aja, Sr.
He attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1983.
In 1990, “Ben” married Kristen Wilkin in Barre. They later divorced.
In earlier years, he was a truck driver for the former Rossi Granite Trucking Company and Booth Brothers Dairy, both in Barre. He retired as a Manufacturing Technician at the IBM Plant in Essex Jct.
Being an outdoor lover, Ben was an avid skier and hunter and enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include his son, Nicholas Aja of Chelsea as well as a large and loving extended family. He was predeceased by his parents and several uncles and aunts.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Inurnment will follow in the Hope Cemetery in Barre City.
