BARRE – Frederick D. Springer, 68, of Barre, Vt. passed away on Friday, December, 25, 2015 in Vermont Respite House in Williston, Vt. after a long battle with Cancer.
Fred was born on April, 5, 1947, in Fort Benning, GA, the son of Robert Springer and Helen (Savard) Shaw.
Fred worked for over 20 years as the Maintenance Supervisor for the City Center Building in Montpelier, Vt.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA and the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed traveling around the state of Vermont, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and sharing a good joke. His wicked wit and charisma lit up rooms. Fred had a profound influence and impact on so many.
Fred is survived by his brothers, Robert Springer and Michael Springer, his sisters, Nancy Hutchinson and Bev Collins, his twin sister, Connie Beebe; his sons, Frederick D. MacKenzie, Dondi L. Walbridge, Anthony R. Springer; his daughters, Sherry L. Hurley, Terry A. Williams, Lucretia M. MacKenzie; 14 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; Several Cousins, Nieces and Nephews; his long time childhood friend, Dennis Mclaughlin and a large extended family of relatives and friends. He is predeceased by both parents and his brother, Jerome Springer.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January, 9, 2015 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Ln, Williston, VT 05495.
