Fred Dupre

WILLIAMSTOWN – Fred “Chris” Dupre, 59, of Rocky Road passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin with his family at his side.

Born December 22, 1960 in Rutland, he was the son of Charles and Emma (Harter) Dupre. His parents, Charles and Emma passed away when he was young, and he was raised by David and MaryAnn Rocque. Chris attended local Barre elementary schools and graduated from Spaulding High School with the class of 1978.   After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served until he was honorably discharged.

On August 22, 1980 he married Terrie Griffin in Barre. Following their marriage, they made their home in Barre before settling in Williamstown where they have resided for the last 36 years.

Chris and Terrie owned and operated a private detective agency until his retirement.   His memberships included St. Monica Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #399 where he had served as the Past State Deputy.   Also, he helped run the Barre Youth Sports Association Football program for a couple of years.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and most of all time spent with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Terrie Dupre; his son Justin Dupre; his parents David and MaryAnn Rocque; his sisters Kimberly Horton and her husband, Douglas, and their children Ian and Cara; Dr. Michelle Rocque-Cilley and her husband, Greg, and their children Feylan and Riona; and Donna Goldstein; and his brother Daniel Dupre as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his birth parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Charles Dupre, Jr, Anthony Dupre, and his sister Kathleen.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Monica Catholic Church, 79 Summer Street, Barre. There are no calling hours.
