Barre Town

BARRE TOWN - Frank Perry Ellis, Loving Husband, Father, Papa, and Friend, left this earthly world on Monday, December 25, 2023, at his home in the loving arms of his wife.

Born on January 20, 1964, in Barre City to Delma W. Ellis and Virginia M. (Hill).

Frank accomplished so much during his lifetime. He cared about everything he did always giving a hundred percent to his personal life, and his work life. In 2006 at the age of 42 he acquired his GED, the same year his daughter Amanda graduated high school. They graduated together.

He was a hard worker from day one. Frank said how he would shovel snow for the elderly folks in his neighborhood when he was a kid to help them, and to make a few dollars. His first official paying job was when he was 16 years-old and he worked at Hope Cemetery. He loved that job. He later worked different jobs eagerly learning everything he could – concrete, construction, trimming trees, to name a few. It was with the City of Montpelier that Frank made his life career for 30+ years. He started at the bottom in the water and sewer department as a temporary full-time employee and made his way to the top. He was an amazing supervisor. He took the role seriously and did everything in his power to help his men and the city. He was a problem solver and wouldn’t give up until the problem was fixed. He later stepped down as supervisor, and his last position at the City of Montpelier was working at the Green Mount Cemetery. Frank said that was fitting – his first job and his last job both working in a cemetery.

He was a man of actions not words. Frank thought and cared about everything he did – always doing it the right way – whether it was home, work, or self-related. He was a dedicated man to his family, friends, and work. He had a huge caring heart and would help everyone that he could do whatever was needed.

He had many different interests over the years. Fishing, boating, hunting, picnics, working on cars, scrapping, and his favorite thing of spending time with his family and friends - having a good time with tons of love, laughing, and smiling. Everything he did was an adventure.

Frank leaves behind his wife of 36 years Jean (Tenney), his daughter Amanda and her husband Peter, and his granddaughter Hazel. He also leaves behind brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and so many friends.

Per Frank’s wishes there will be a graveside service in the spring at a date and time to be announced and also per his wishes there are no calling hours.

You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. Frank had the best smile ever – and he would want us all to smile.

Memorial donations in his name may be made to the charity or non-profit of your choice.
