EAST MONTPELIER – Frances Marie “Fran” Pickel, 65 of Vermont Route 214, passed away at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin on May 6, 2016.
Born October 24, 1950 in Suffolk, VA, she was the daughter of Charles and Agnus (Daniels) Mitchell.
She graduated from Kecoughtan High School in Hampton, VA in 1969. Fran married David A. Pickel, Sr., on December 20, 1967 in Elizabeth City, NC. They later moved to Vermont.
She was a realtor with Century 21 Jack Associates in Montpelier for many years. Fran enjoyed spending time with her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren, and volunteering.
She is survived by her husband David, sons David A. Pickel, Jr., and Christopher V. Pickel; her grandchildren Alexandra, Charlie and Chase Pickel all of East Montpelier, VT and Jyneva Pickel of Boston, MA; her mother, Agnus Brett of Virginia; her sisters Virginia Burbage of South Carolina, Pam Pickel of Vermont and Charlotte Baehm of Pennsylvania.
She was predeceased by her father, Charles Mitchell.
The service to honor her life will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
