Frances Deroche

BARRE – Frances Dora DeRoche, 90, of South Barre passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Fran was born on March 27, 1927 in Montreal, Quebec and was the daughter of Albert R. and Dora (Pittsley) Desautels.

She made her home there working as an executive secretary for Domtar until October 1966, when she married John Arthur DeRoche and moved to Yarmouth, Maine. They moved to South Barre after their marriage where they spent the rest of their years. Fran worked at Buttura and Sons until her retirement.

Survivors include several loving nieces and nephews.   Fran was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, John Arthur DeRoche, and her sisters, Madeleine Dupuis and Norma Martineau.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Fran’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, Vermont. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barre Gardens Patient Activity Fund, 378 Prospect Street, Barre, VT 05641.
