WILLIAMSTOWN/PLAINFIELD – Florence L. Marsha, 88, of Harvey Hill Road passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Rowan Court in Barre after a long illness.
Born on September 29, 1928 in Plainfield, she was the daughter of Robert and Edith (Shorey) Harvey and one of twelve children.
Florence graduated from Plainfield High School with the class of 1946.
On January 24, 1948 she married Leon Marsha in Plainfield.
Florence was the librarian at the Williamstown Elementary School for three years. She was also a choir director and youth fellowship leader at the Williamstown United Church where she especially loved to help with the Christmas Eve Nativity pageant.
In her spare time, she liked to draw and paint landscapes and loved horses and cows. Along with her husband, Leon and many of their friends, she enjoyed square dancing.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Marsha of Williamstown; her two sons Michael Marsha and his wife, Susan of Vershire, William Marsha and his wife, Bonnie of Orange; her daughter Sherry Marsha of Island Pond; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as her sisters Dorothy Knowles and Barbara Mayers; and her brothers William and Fred Harvey.
She was predeceased by her parents and seven sisters.
A service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family.
