Eugene A. Cozzi

February 11, 1943 — October 7, 2024

Bradenton

BRADENTON, FL – Eugene A. Cozzi, age 81, a former resident of Barre, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton, Florida.

Born on February 11, 1943, in Barre, he was the son of John and Mildred (O’Connor) Cozzi. He attended elementary schools in Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1961. Following high school, he attended Norwich University and graduated from there in 1965.

Eugene worked for the State of Vermont, retiring after many years of service.

In his spare time, Eugene enjoyed cooking and eating what he made. He was always trying to duplicate Dell’s Pizza, the pizza he and his group from the North End of Barre would stop and buy as they were walking home after spending the evening at the Lighthouse Teen Center. He also spent a lot of time trying to duplicate Mrs. Zanleoni’s ravioli, the specialty he enjoyed as a child during the winter holidays. He was never successful in duplicating either recipe to his satisfaction.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mildred (O’Connor) Cozzi and his sister, Marilyn Cozzi Murray.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Cozzi family mausoleum in Hope Cemetery.  Friends and family are welcome to attend.

Eugene’s friends are well aware of his desire to have his many questions answered regarding religion and life after death.
