Eugene F. Carrier

WILLIAMSTOWN – Eugene F. Carrier, 78, a longtime resident of Graniteville Road, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington due to injuries sustained from an accident at his home.

Born on February 13, 1941 in Websterville, he was the son of Napoleon and Lydia (Bergeron) Carrier. He attended local elementary schools and graduated from Williamstown High School in 1959.

In his early years, Eugene worked on the family farm and eventually took the farm over at the age of 21. He ran the farm for many years until his retirement.

Eugene enjoyed every minute of life, especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was very proud of each of them. He loved to take Ranger rides with his grandchildren, watching many different sporting events and spending quality time with his lovely wife, Mary. He had a great sense of humor that all those around him will remember for years to come.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary Dunn Carrier, of Williamstown; four sons John Carrier and his wife, Pauline, Jeff Carrier and his wife, Annette, Jack Carrier and his wife, Julie, and Jesse Carrier; three step-children Cindy Dunn and her fiancée Jay Willey, Kevin Dunn and Dick Dunn and his wife, Patty. He also leaves his brother, Paul Carrier, of North Carolina, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many close friends.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Yvette (Brousseau) Carrier who passed in 1984, as well as six brothers and sisters.

A memorial service to honor and celebrates Eugene’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Canadian Club of VT Route 14 in Barre. A potluck luncheon and time of fellowship will take place immediately following the service. Eugene will be buried in the Village Cemetery in Williamstown at a time of convenience for the family.
