Esther L. Bettis

BARRE – Esther Linea Ohlin Bettis, 97, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Lincoln House in Barre.

Born July 1, 1919 in Barre, she was the daughter of Hjalmar and Agnes (Erickson) Ohlin. Esther attended elementary school in Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1937.   After high school, she graduated from the Burlington Business School.

Esther worked as a secretary for the telephone company for many years.

On July 3, 1948, she married Roger F. Bettis of Montpelier. He passed away on December 20, 1983, in Englewood, FL.

She was a member of the Montpelier Emerald Club.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hope Cemetery in Barre. There are no calling hours.
