Erin M. Blosser Maccormack

January 17, 1988 — September 28, 2025

Barre

BARRE - Erin Margaret Blosser MacCormack, 37, passed peacefully at her home in Barre, VT from Glioblastoma on September 28, 2025.  She was surrounded by her devoted and loving husband, Lloyd, family and friends, who all admired the grace with which she carried her burden.

Erin was born to Karen Salvador Blosser and David L. Blosser on January 17, 1988 at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, Vermont. She attended East Montpelier Elementary School and graduated from U-32 High School in 2006. Erin went on to work in the Insurance Industry, rising quickly to her most recent position as a Compliance Advisor at the National Life Group in Montpelier, VT. This position was well suited to her integrity, ethic and maturity.

Erin married her soulmate, Lloyd MacCormack III on October 8, 2022.  Lloyd cared for her throughout the 22 months, fulfilling her wishes in a loving and caring way; always keeping her safety and desires foremost. Their home is filled with color, whimsey, artwork and love.

Upon meeting Erin, people were drawn to her magnetic, infectious smile and great freckles. She possessed a sense of humor, quick wit, caring nature, strong mechanical ability and good old common sense! She marched to the beat of her own drum. Erin’s natural creativity was demonstrated in her artistic abilities through fashion design and her skilled artwork using clay, stained glass, charcoal and water color. She loved camping, gardening, yard sales, travel, mermaids, and four wheeling. Her travels found her in many countries, including Italy, France , Spain, Germany, Austria, Ireland and Scotland. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and spent many happy days at her favorite places in Venice, FL, Pittsburg, NH and on the Maine Coast.

Erin leaves her husband, Lloyd, parents, Karen Blosser, David Blosser, stepmother, Sally Redpath, and stepsiblings, Travis (Kate) Apple, Rachel Apple (Seth), Colin (Amanda) Apple. She leaves her in-laws, Lloyd Jr. and Judy MacCormack, as well as brother and sister-in-law  Patrick and Ashley MacCormack.  She also leaves her maternal grandmother, Catherine Booth Salvador and aunts, Brenda (John) Buzzell, Joanie (Pete) Ross, Mary Ellen Salvador and Erin’s uncle, Jeffrey Salvador. She leaves her paternal uncle, Kenneth (Bonnie) Blosser, along with many cousins in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Alabama and California.

Erin was predeceased by her grandparents, John A. Salvador, Kenneth and LaDonna Blosser as well as her beloved dog, Libby.

The family extends appreciation to the UVM Neuro Oncology team, including Alissa Thomas, MD and  Olivia Thompson, RN, to the Dana Farber Institute in Boston, MA and to Judy MacCormack for loving care and support.

Erin’s perspective as shared on social media after her diagnosis: “Life feels cliché more often than not these days but please, PLEASE do not neglect or abuse your healthy bodies.  Take care of yourself. No one else can do it for you. Also, everything is made up. Be grateful, be kind. YOU’RE ALIVE and isn’t that wonderful??!!”

Family and friends are welcome at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre, VT on Monday, October 13 from  5-7 PM.  Erin’s life will celebrated on Wednesday, October 15 from 12-4 PM at the Country Club of Barre, 142 Drake Road, East Montpelier, VT.  A special tribute for Erin will take place at 12:45. Guests are encouraged to wear colorful attire.

Contributions in Erin’s memory may be made to Central Vermont Humane Society, 1589 VT-14, East Montpelier, VT 05651 to reflect her love of animals, especially her loving companion of 14 years, Liberty Bell (Libby) or to the Erin Blosser MacCormack Art Scholarship in care of Karen S.
