Erik H. Lunde

CHESTER - Erik Lunde, 51, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Born on November 8, 1972, in Rutland, VT to Henry B. and Sandra Z. Lunde, currently of South Burlington, VT.

Erik was a special child with special needs for care, which he received in abundance from the wonderful staff and caregivers at Lincoln Street Incorporated (LSI) in Springfield, VT. These people became Erik’s family, from his childhood through his passing.

He was a founding member of the 10 Lincoln Street home in Springfield, from which the agency takes its name. Erik had been a beloved member of the LSI community for many years, with so many close friends, including with the Director, Sherry, for the past 37 years. He was self-employed for a number of years, providing a confidential shredding service. Erik loved people, always greeting everyone with the biggest smile, a wonderful belly laugh, and the best hugs. All the members of the LSI community will miss those welcoming greetings.

Erik’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and doctors at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for their wonderful care of him during his last illness and to Ridgewood Associates for their care for many many years. We would also like to thank all the family at Lincoln Street, most notably his long-time caregivers Lisa Audlin of Brattleboro, VT and Eva Ryan of Chester, VT, whose special care allowed Erik his dignity and respect. We are also thankful for his long-term friends, Vicky and Chris Moore. We are forever grateful.

Survivors include his parents, his sister Sonja E. Lunde of Waterbury, and his brother Kurt and his wife, Vincenza and their children GiaBella, Layla and Alessondra of South Burlington.

The service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Springfield Congregational Church, 77 Main Street, Springfield, VT. There are no calling hours. Interment will take place in Hope Cemetery in Barre, VT at the convenience of his family.
