BERLIN - Elizabeth (Grace) Larrabee, 96, of Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center, passed away Saturday November 18, 2017, with family by her side.
Grace was born on January 12, 1921, in Williamstown, she was the daughter of Bert and Emma (Royce) Stevens. Grace attended schools in Barre and Montpelier.
In 1940, she married John Thompson. He died a few years later and then she married Bruce Chapin in 1953. Bruce passed away as well and in 1980, she married Warren Larrabee who also predeceased her.
Grace worked at the NorthStar Motel in Burlington, VT, Troy Laundry in Norwich, CT and Fry Shoe Company in Marlboro, CT.
In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, travelling, knitting and collecting light houses, although most of all, Grace enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Libby) Chapin, Steven Chapin, SR, Rachel Chapin, Leslie Wetherby, Bobby Chapin, Joy Larrabee, Mike Larrabee, John Larrabee, Alfred Larrabee, Steve Larrabee, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by seven sisters; May Taylor, Minnie Finlaid, Hattie Sprague, Edie Drury, Goldie Deyo, Myrle West and Ruby Tetreault; three brothers, Clyde Stevens, George Stevens and Harry Stevens; three step-children, William Chapin, Walter Chapin and Betty Chapin as well as her grandson, Brian Larrabee.
The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. There are no calling hours.
