Eleanor Macauley

BARRE TOWN – Eleanor MacAuley, 89, of Spruce Mountain View Drive passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Chestnut Place in Berlin.

Born on January 26, 1935, in East Montpelier, she was the daughter of James and Doris (Martel) Robbins, Sr.

Eleanor attended local elementary schools and graduated from Spaulding High School.

On October 5, 1957, she married Roger MacAuley, and they made their home in Barre Town. Eleanor was a homemaker for many years before joining the family business, MacAuley Food Service later in life.

In her spare time, she enjoyed putting together puzzles, needlepoint, knitting, and crocheting along with travelling and camping.

Survivors include her husband Roger MacAuley of Barre, VT; her son Arnold MacAuley and his wife, Donna of Williamstown, VT; her daughter Lori MacAuley of Florida; her son Mike MacAuley and his partner, Dawn Marie Tomasi of Leesburg, FL and Washington, VT; and her son Scott MacAuley of Barre, VT; her 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren as well as her brothers James Robbins, Jr., and his wife, Ruth of Orange and Richard Robbins and his wife, Judy of Barre.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Richard, her brothers Bobby and Dougie and her sister Marilyn.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held in the Spring.
