BARRE – Edward (Ed) Bell, 69, of Highgate Drive passed away at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin on May 5, 2026.

Born August 28, 1956 to Lawrence and Maybelle (Ditchem) Bell in Barre. Edward attended Barre City Schools. He went on to work in construction and painting.

In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors and fishing.

Ed leaves behind his partner Catherine Lynch, his stepchildren George Morway, Christine Simon, Christopher Morway, Colleen DuBois and Caitlin Hollis. His siblings, John Bell, Margaret Surprenant, Janet Miller, Rose Willis, Karen Machell and Lynda Bell. As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Maranda Brown, stepson Chad Morway, brother Lawrence Bell Jr., sister Joyce Sanborn, brother Clinton Bell Sr., sister Patricia Bell as well as many aunts and uncles.
