BARRE CITY – Edna May Davy, 87, of Lincoln House on Hill Street and formerly of Sunset Road in Barre Town, died peacefully, after a long illness on February 2, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Born April 28, 1927 in Marshfield, she was the daughter of Roy E. and Ruth (Richardson) Fair and grew up in North Calais. She was a graduate of Montpelier High School in 1946.
She spent the last four and a half years at Lincoln House in Barre where she made endearing friendships with staff and residents. Before moving there, she lived on Sunset Road in Barre Town for 45 years. Her interests included vegetable gardening and canning foods, planting and tending her flowers, enjoying the outdoors, riding the country roads of Vermont, and her cooking was unequaled. Spending lots of time with family, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and showering them all with that special love only a grandmother can give, gave Edna great pleasure.
Edna is survived by her four children; Maxine Daino and her husband, Robert of Hilliard, Ohio; John H. Davy of Barre Town; Patricia Beaudoin and her husband Lee; of Orange and Carol Martin and her husband, Timothy of Barre City; 9 grandchildren, US Army Captain Adam Daino, Elizabeth Daino Hill, Jason and Sara Beaudoin and Jesse, Bradley, Joel, Chelsea and Rebekah Martin and 4 great grandchildren, Kolby Flynn, Karmen and Jericho Beaudoin and Tucker Kidder.
Also surviving is her sister Bessie Benjamin and her brother Donald Fair and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, John A. Davy, she was predeceased by 2 sons Bruce and Daniel Davy, grandson Benjamin Nicholas Daino and sister Cora Fraser.
Her life will be honored and celebrated with a time of fellowship and sharing at her final residence, Lincoln House at 120 Hill Street in Barre City on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Later interment will be made in the Maplewood Cemetery in Barre Town.
