BARRE - Doris E. Marsha, 95, a long-time resident was gently placed into the arms of the angels while surrounded by family on Monday, September 25, 2023.
Born on January 16, 1928, in Marshfield, she was the daughter of Merton and Pearl (Cotton) Potter. Doris grew up on a farm on Maple Hill in Plainfield and attended local schools.
In August of 1945, she married Edwin (Joe) Hedding and together they had six children Allan, David, Michael, Denis, Diane, and Timothy. Doris remarried in October of 1963 to Richard Marsha and together they had two children Larry and Lisa.
She had various jobs before finding her true passion, elder care, a job she took great delight in for 35 years. Even though she was a busy career woman and mother, she still found time to enjoy her flower garden, rides in the country, yard sales and listening to music.
Doris was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Club in Barre.
Survivors include her 8 children, 23 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren as well as several great-great grandchildren and a new great-great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her past spouses, her eleven siblings, a grandson and two great-grandsons.
The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hooker Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Immediately following the service, interment will take place in Hope Cemetery in Barre. Family and friends may call at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
