Diana C. Henderson

WILLIAMSTOWN – Diana C. Henderson, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Central Vermont Medical Center after a short illness with her loving family at her side.

Born on August 31, 1943, in Lower Graniteville, she was the daughter of Clarence and Arlene (Payne) Compo. She graduated from Spaulding High School in 1961. Diana moved to East Hartford, CT right after high school and worked at the London & Lancaster Insurance Company in Hartford, CT and Pratt & Whitney, Co. in East Hartford, CT in clerical positions for several years. She later worked for the State of Vermont for 30 years and retired in August of 2005 from the Vermont Department of Libraries.

On August 1, 1964, she married Ronald B. Henderson. They were married for 42 years and resided in Graniteville and Williamstown.

Diana was a member of the Williamstown Lutheran Church. She devoted her life to raising her children. Her family meant the world to her, and they were always there for her whenever she needed them. Diana enjoyed spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything else in her life. She attended many baseball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse and hockey games that she could that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren played in. She made all the holidays very special for her family. She also especially enjoyed spending time with her family at Old Orchard Beach in Maine. She loved to play poker and really looked forward to her trips to Foxwoods Casino with her brother Doug and sister Sylvia. Diana was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will forever be loved and missed.

Survivors include her two sons John Henderson of Williamstown and Kevin Henderson and his wife, Julie of Williamstown; her daughter Tammy Laperle and her husband, Steven of Barre Town; and her seven grandchildren that she was truly blessed with John Jack, Kristina, Eric, Matthew, Colby, Justin, and Peyton; her five great-grandchildren Evan and Emma Folsom, Maren and Parker Laperle and Oliver Henderson; her three brothers Douglas Compo of Williamstown, Mark Compo of Orange, and Peter Compo of South Barre and her five sisters Sylvia Westcott of Windsor, CT; Norma Anderson of Windsor, CO; Susan Dion of Manchester, NH; Martha Longway of Essex Junction, VT; and Gail Andrews of Kingsland, GA as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ronald Henderson, her brother Edward Compo, her sister-in-law Sandra Compo, her brother-in-law William Westcott and her niece Dawn Westcott.

The graveside service to honor her life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilson Cemetery in Lower Websterville. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life at Diana’s home 1490 Hebert Road, Williamstown, VT.  All family and friends are welcome.
