BARRE CITY – Daniel R. Lang, 67, of Barre, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2016 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, with his loving family by his bedside.
Born May 18, 1948 in Hardwick, the fourth of seven children, he was the son of Joseph and Margaret (Hodgdon) Lang. Daniel spent his early years being raised in Craftsbury and would always love to recount to his family the many experiences he had growing up on the multiple farms that they lived on. He attended local elementary schools and was a graduate of Twinfield High School in 1969. Following his graduation he joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after serving his enlistment.
Daniel was what many would consider a “Jack Of All Trades”, holding many positions in many different industries throughout his years, always performing his jobs with determination and dedication.
Though he had many hobbies, his main interests were playing darts, working on cars, being an avid collector of many things and sometimes just riding around enjoying his home in Central Vermont.
Survivors include three sons; Christopher Emmons of Barre, Anthony Emmons and his wife, Cassandra, of Barre and Matthew Storti of California; two daughters; Joline Jones and her husband, Eric, of Barre and Keisha Cotnoir of Barre. He also leaves two brothers; Walter Lang of Barre and Edward Lang of Franklin County, IND; two sisters; Betty Jakubowski of Cedar Park, TX and Lucy Bell of Barre; his life-long partner Kelli Leclair of Barre, as well as twenty one grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Margaret, and two brothers; Emerson Lang and Grant Lang.
A calling hours and time of remembrance, for family and friends, will be held at the American Legion Post #10 in Barre on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a luncheon to follow.
