NORTH MONTPELIER - Daniel James Burke, 44 years old, took his life on December 21, 2016. He loved his family, in particular his children, his friends, his dogs and the Vermont woods and mountains. Dan lived life intensely with an energy that translated into super powers for all.
Born on January 27, 1972 in Boston, MA, he was more recently from Waterbury and Barre. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1990, one of the happiest days of our lives. Driving and music went together for Dan and his family, and along with his talents for helping people in mental health, he made a career of service.
He sadly leaves behind his mother, Angela Grace and her husband Dave Barnowski, his children, Talia Turgeon, Kyle Burke, Jazmyn Burke, and Dylan Burke ; his grandchildren Alexis Burke, Kayd Blondin, Kammaria Blondin and Kylana Blondin. Also his brother Christopher Burke, nephews Mitchell Burke and Rowan Burke of Oregon, his sister Celia Molina, husband Don Molina and nieces Caitlin Molina and Kaili Molina of Hawaii. He leaves many other relatives and loyal friends.
He was predeceased by his father James A. Burke.
It was Dan's wish to have a party and so it will be. A gathering will be held at the American Legion, Post #10, Main Street, Barre, on Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Food, cash bar and music will be provided. Bring a dish to share if you wish. All are welcome.
Instead of flowers or donations, if you wish, think of Dan when you walk in the woods or hug your children.
