BARRE – Corey Alan Bernier, 55, of Spring Street passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the University of Vermont Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on January 13, 1970, in Berlin, he was the son of Gary and Belinda (Parker) Bernier. He attended Twinfield elementary school and graduated from Twinfield High School in 1988. Following school, he made his home in Williamstown and Barre.
Corey was employed with the National Life Insurance Company, Vermont Coffee Roasters, Maplewoods Convenience Store, and Thomas Property Management where he made many friends throughout the years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, building model cars, collecting matchbox, and hot wheel cars. He loved NASCAR and going to Thunder Road. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his mother Belinda Bernier, his partner Brooke Lorentzen and his
daughters from his high school sweetheart (Tina) Casandra Kuhn and her fiancé Corey Grandbois and Chantel Bernier and her fiancé Kyle Dennis; his grandchildren Remington Kuhn, Corey Grandbois, Jr., and Charlotte Grandbois; his mother Belinda Bernier; his brother Jason Bernier; and his sister Heather Bernier and her wife, Jaime as well as his nephews Ethan Bernier, Ezra Bernier, Isaiah Bernier, and Tristan Perreault.
In addition to his grandparents, he was predeceased by his father Gary Bernier, his nephew Brandon Bernier and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., in the Canadian Club of Barre, 414 East Montpelier Road, Barre. There are no calling hours.
